Tina Cerino Memorial Scholarship

Purpose of Scholarship

To provide financial assistance to a Clyde-Savannah High School student who exhibits the qualities of Tina Cerino and plans to study marketing, communications, or a related field in college.

Application Period

First Monday in February to Second Friday in May

Number and Size of Awards

One award of $1,000. Award paid in one lump sum in the Spring semester.

Allowed Use of Award

Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

For a graduating senior at Clyde-Savannah High School who:

  • Has an unweighted cumulative GPA in the 80- to 89-range;
  • Has an outgoing personality;
  • Is active in school and the community; and
  • Is accepted at a two- or four-year college or university and plans to be a full-time student majoring in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or public relations.

Application Process

The application process is coordinated through the Clyde-Savannah High School Counseling Office, where application instructions also are available.

Committee/Selection Process

The selection process is coordinated through the Clyde-Savannah High School Guidance Office. A committee comprised of one member of Tina's family, Clyde-Savannah High School counselors, the principal, secretary to the principal, and occasionally faculty members reviews applications, selects the recipient(s), and informs the Community Foundation.

Award Announcement and Payment

The Community Foundation emails a certificate to the high school for presentation to the recipient and emails an award notification with instructions for claiming the award to the recipient in the Summer. Payment is mailed to the school for the recipient's account once required documentation is received after completion of the Fall semester.

To release the Spring semester payment, upload the requested and required information to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Portal between December 1 and February 15.

Scholarships not claimed by February 15 in the assigned year will be forfeited. Email scholarships@racf.org with any questions or concerns.

Renewability

This scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable.


Donor Information

This scholarship was established to memorialize Tina Cerino, a 1984 graduate of Clyde-Savannah High School. Tina attended the College of St. Rose for one year and finished her degree in public communications and marketing from St. John Fisher College in January 1989. She was an outgoing, ambitious, and public-loving young lady.
