
Peter Scot Mueller Memorial/Spencerport Rotary Scholarship
Purpose of Scholarship
For a graduating senior from Spencerport High School who will pursue education beyond the high school level.
Application Period
December 1 to March 15
Number and Size of Awards
One award of $2,000; paid in one lump sum.
Allowed Use of Award
Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
For a graduating senior from Spencerport High School who:
- Will continue education after high school;
- Shows outstanding character, good citizenship, and fellowship; and
- Demonstrates average or above average scholastic ability.
Special consideration is given to Spencerport students who graduate from the WEMOCO Career and Technical Education Center.
Application Process
The application process is coordinated by the Counseling Office at Spencerport High School, where application instructions are available if applicable.
Committee/Selection Process
The selection process is coordinated through the Spencerport High School. The Spencerport Scholarship selection committee reviews applications, selects the recipient(s), and informs the Community Foundation.
Award Announcement and Payment
The Community Foundation emails a certificate to the Spencerport High School for presentation to the recipient and emails an award notification with instructions for claiming the award to the recipient in the Spring. Payment is mailed to the school for the recipient’s account in one lump sum in the Fall and split between the Fall and Spring semesters once required documentation is received.
To release the scholarship payment, upload the requested and required information including your class schedule and tuition bill verifying enrollment to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Acceptance and Renewal Form between July 1 and August 15.
Scholarships not claimed by February 15 in the assigned year will be forfeited. Email scholarships@racf.org with any questions or concerns.
Renewability
This scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable.
Donor Information
This scholarship was established by the Edwin Mueller Family in 1985 in memory of Peter Mueller, a graduate of Spencerport Central School and WEMOCO Career and Technical Education Center, who was killed in an automobile accident. The use of the award is monitored by Spencerport Rotary.
