James F. Maloney Scholarship
Purpose of Scholarship
For graduating seniors and graduates of Palmyra-Macedon Central School seeking education in electronics and/or the mechanical trades.

Number and Size of Awards
One awards of $6,000; divided into equal annual installments paid over four consecutive years of undergraduate study. Award paid in Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters.
Allowed Use of Award
Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
For student who are:
- Graduating seniors of Palmyra-Macedon High School continuing their education in electronics and/or the mechanical trades; OR
- Graduating seniors of Palmyra-Macedon High School who are enrolled in the Tech Prep program at Finger Lakes Community College or pursuing certificate or career programs in electronics and/or the mechanical trades at Monroe Community College or another community college in New York; OR
- Graduates of Palmyra-Macedon High School who have completed certificate or career programs in electronics and/or the mechanical trades and now want to further their education in those fields and pursue an associate's or bachelor's degree at any four-year college in the country.
Application Process
The application process is coordinated by the Palmyra-Macedon Counseling Office, where application instructions are available.
Committee/Selection Process
The selection process is administered by the Palmyra-Macedon Dollars for Scholars program, which reviews applications, selects the recipients, and informs the Community Foundation.
Award Announcement and Payment
The Community Foundation emails a certificate to the high school for presentation to the recipient and emails an award notification with instructions for claiming the award to the recipient in the Spring. Payment is mailed to the school for the recipient’s account in one lump sum in the Fall and split between the Fall and Spring semesters once required documentation is received.
To release the initial scholarship payment, upload the requested and required information including your class schedule and tuition bill verifying enrollment in an electronic or mechanical trades program to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Acceptance and Renewal Form between July 1 and August 15.
To release subsequent scholarship payments, upload the requested and required information including your unofficial transcript, class schedule and tuition bill to verify continued enrollment in an electronic or mechanical trades program and a minimum 3.0 GPA to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Portal between July 1 and August 15.
Scholarships not claimed by February 15 in the assigned year will be forfeited. Email scholarships@racf.org with any questions or concerns.
Renewability
This scholarship is renewable up to three times for a total of up to four awards in four consecutive years. Please see the Award Announcement and Payment section above for more information.
