Purpose of Scholarship
For a graduating senior of Honeoye Central High School going on to college who exemplifies Sally's qualities of determination, drive, a sense of humor, and a willingness to face adversity.Application Period

Number and Size of Awards
One award of $4,000; paid as $1,000 per year for up to four consecutive years of undergraduate study. Award paid in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters.
Allowed Use of Award
Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
For a graduating senior from Honeoye Central High School who:- Is continuing his/her education;
- Has a cumulative grade point average of 80 percent (2.7 GPA) or higher; and
- Has determination, drive, a sense of humor, and a willingness to face adversity.
Application Process
The application process is coordinated by Honeoye Central High School Counseling Office, where application instructions are also available. Sally Gordon Memorial Scholarship ApplicationCommittee/Selection Process
The selection process is coordinated through the Honeoye Central High School. A selection committee comprised of at least three members of Honeoye Central High School faculty and staff, and which may include one member of the Gordon family, reviews applications, selects the recipient(s), and informs the Community Foundation. Interviews may be requested. The selection will not be based on final grades; the 80 percent cumulative grade is for pre-screening purposes only. The essay and interview are weighted equally. The interview questions posed by the scholarship selection committee show the importance of personality in the selection process.Award Announcement and Payment
The Community Foundation emails a certificate to the high school for presentation to the recipient and emails an award notification with instructions for claiming the award to the recipient in the Spring. Payment is mailed to the school for the recipient’s account in one lump sum in the Fall and split between the Fall and Spring semesters once required documentation is received. To release the scholarship payment, upload the requested and required information including your class schedule and tuition bill to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Portal between July 1 and August 15. To release subsequent scholarship payments, upload the requested and required information including your unofficial transcript, class schedule, and tuition bill to verify continued full-time enrollment and good standing to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Portal between July 1 and August 15.
