Reineman Family Scholarship
Purpose of Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes and provides financial support to graduating high school students who participate in Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection.Application Period
November 1 to March 22
Number and Size of Awards
One award of $6,000; paid as $1,500 per year for up to four consecutive years of undergraduate study. Award paid in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters.
Allowed Use of Award
Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
For a graduating high school senior who:- Has a minimum of two years active participation in Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection;
- Has maintained steady employment for at least two years;
- Is diligent in his/her studies and has a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA in grades 9 to 12;
- Is accepted at an accredited institution of higher learning; and
- Has financial need.
Application Process
The application process is coordinated by Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection, where application instructions are available if applicable.Committee/Selection Process
The selection process is coordinated through Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection. A committee of representatives from Hillside reviews applications, selects the recipient, and informs the Community Foundation.Award Announcement and Payment
The Community Foundation emails a certificate to Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection for presentation to the recipient and emails an award notification with instructions for claiming the award to the recipient in the Spring. Payment is made to the school for the recipient’s account in one lump sum in the Fall and split between the Fall and Spring semesters once required documentation is received. To release the initial scholarship payment, upload the requested and required information including your class schedule and tuition bill verifying full-time enrollment in a two- or four-year college to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Portal between July 1 and August 15. To release subsequent scholarship payments, upload the requested and required information including your unofficial transcript, class schedule, tuition bill verifying continued full-time enrollment in a two- or four-year college and a minimum 2.5 GPA to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Portal between July 1 and August 15. Scholarships not claimed in the assigned semester will be forfeited. Email scholarships@racf.org with any questions or concerns.Renewability
