Purpose of Scholarship

To provide scholarship assistance to a LeMoyne College student who is from Monroe County and pursuing a four-year degree in business, finance, or accounting. ***Offered every four years. Accepting applications in 2024.***

Number and Size of Awards

One award of $4,000; paid as $1,000 per year for up to four consecutive years of undergraduate study. Award paid in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters. ***Offered every four years. Accepting new applications in 2024***

Allowed Use of Award

Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

For a Monroe County high school graduate who:

• Is an incoming freshman or undergraduate student at LeMoyne College pursuing a four-year degree in the field of business, finance, or accounting;
• Has a minimum 3.0 GPA; and
• Has financial need.

Application Process

The application process is coordinated through the Financial Aid Office at LeMoyne College, where application instructions are available.

Committee/Selection Process

The selection process is coordinated through the Financial Aid Office at LeMoyne College, which selects the recipient(s) and informs the Community Foundation.

Award Announcement and Payment

The Community Foundation emails an award notification with instructions for claiming the award to the recipient in April. Payment is made to the school for the recipient’s account in one lump sum in the Fall and split between the Fall and Spring semesters once required documentation is received.

To release the initial scholarship payment, upload the requested and required information including your class schedule and tuition bill verifying full-time enrollment at LeMoyne College and a specialization in business administration or finance to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Acceptance and Renewal Form between July 1 and August 15.

To release subsequent scholarship payments, upload the requested and required information including your unofficial transcript, class schedule, tuition bill, and the Peter A. Ciaccia, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Renewal Form verifying continued full-time enrollment and good standing to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Acceptance and Renewal Form between July 1 and August 15.

Scholarships not claimed by February 15 in the assigned year will be forfeited. Email scholarships@racf.org with any questions or concerns.

Renewability

This scholarship is renewable up to three times for a total of four awards in four consecutive years. Please see the Award Announcement and Payment section above for more information.

Other

If the recipient pursues a master's degree in accounting or business administration at LeMoyne College, he/she may receive one year of graduate-level support as long as it does not exceed the maximum total award.
