Louis and Betty Iacona were inspired to create a scholarship to help students pursuing a career in nursing after witnessing the patience, understanding, and compassionate care provided to a loved one during a difficult time. The scholarship is an expression of gratitude for the nurses who gave of themselves so selflessly and was established to provide assistance and encouragement to nursing students who exhibit the qualities Mr. and Mrs. Iacona so admired and appreciated during their loved one's illness.
