Donor Information
This scholarship was founded in loving memory of Dr. Jeffrey L Hanson, MD, who served the Livingston County community for 37 years, as Family Physician, Director of Genesee Valley Family Medicine, member of the Livingston County Board of Health (11 years as President), and various roles as medical director for schools and nursing homes across the county. Dr. Hanson was also a clinical instructor at the University of Rochester Medical School and upon retirement was appointed Professor Emeritus at the University of Rochester.
Beloved by patients, staff, and his community, Dr. Hanson believed in the importance of laughter during doctor visits, the power of a caring touch, and even the occasional house call. Outside of work, Jeff was an amazing father, friend, brother, son, and husband, bringing endless laughter and joy to all those around him.
This scholarship was created by his family, friends and community supporters with the intent to help young women and men pursue a medical career based on Jeff’s values. To make your own gift to this fund, click here.
