Purpose of Scholarship

For a student at North Rose-Wolcott High School active in vocal music and going on to college.

Application Period

Number and Size of Awards

One award of $1,000; paid in one lump sum in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters.

Allowed Use of Award

Awards may be used for educational expenses or other purposes.

Eligibility Criteria

For an honor-roll student enrolled in the Regents diploma program who:

  • Plans to attend college;
  • Is actively involved in the vocal music program, with a willingness to develop and make the most of his/her talent;
  • Displays good character and moral standards; and
  • Exhibits school spirit and loyalty through involvement in many aspects of school life.

Application Process

The nomination process is coordinated through the North Rose-Wolcott High School’s Main Office.

Committee/Selection Process

The selection process is coordinated through North Rose-Wolcott High School. A committee selects the recipient, and informs the Community Foundation. Representatives of the Marshall family may participate in reviewing nominations but do not vote on the final recipient.

Award Announcement and Payment

The Community Foundation emails a certificate to the high school for presentation to the recipient and emails an award notification with instructions for claiming the award to the recipient in the Spring. Payment is mailed to the school for the recipient’s account in one lump sum in the Fall and split between the Fall and Spring semesters once required documentation is received.

To release the scholarship payment, upload the requested and required information including your class schedule and tuition bill verifying enrollment to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Portal between July 1 and August 15.

Scholarships not claimed by October 15 in the assigned academic year will be forfeited. Email scholarships@racf.org with any questions or concerns.

Renewability

This scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable.

The award was established by family and friends to memorialize a musical young woman who died too young.
