Professional Development
Throughout the year, the Community Foundation offers a variety of opportunities to help accountants, analysts, attorneys, trust officers, wealth managers, and other financial professionals network and stay current on developments in philanthropic, charitable, and financial planning. We host an educational event specific to advisors in the winter and a social every summer.
We also invite advisors to other events hosted by the Community Foundation and open to our wider constituent base, including our spring Evening Out event and our fall Celebration of Giving.
Winter Seminar
This event typically includes an hour-long presentation on a topic related to charitable giving and how the Community Foundation can fit into planning with clients. Recent topics have included “The Philanthropic Advice Your Clients Really Want,” “Using Social Media to Build a Brand and Attract and Retain Clients,” and “Asking the Philanthropic Question: The Opportunity for You and Your Clients.”
Summer Social
The Community Foundation provides a chance to network with your peers in a relaxed, social setting. We typically host it at a fun community venue with built-in entertainment like wine tastings, beer tastings, or games. The Rochester Chapter of the CFA Society sponsors the event, and in the past it has been held at Radio Social, Three Heads Brewery, and Living Roots Winery.
