(ACTIVE) Glen Miller Grants for Emergency Health Care Costs

Purpose

To benefit financially needy individuals faced with unanticipated and/or emergency health care expenses for which there is no or inadequate health insurance or other reimbursement. Grants may be used for equipment, therapy, rehab, necessary capital improvements, or other similar expenses. Grants may not be used for preventive or routine treatment, for reimbursable costs, or to support administration costs. Grants will be paid through a nonprofit organization that is working with the family and will report on the use of the grant.

Grants are limited to one per family.

Typical Grant Size

Typical grant size: Up to $3,000.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations within the eight-county region around Rochester (Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates counties).

Rolling application; no deadline. Applications reviewed in order received.

Application

Send one copy of the completed Project Brief Application to Kate Kidera (contact info below). With it, submit a letter (on the letterhead of the nonprofit organization) explaining the need and how it meets the criteria. Include the amount requested and the specific purpose(s) for which the grant will be used.

Notification Date(s)

Usually within two weeks of receipt of letter of inquiry.
