(ACTIVE) Katie Harper Youth Hope Grants

Purpose

To meet the emergency needs of individual children who have been injured or experienced catastrophic illness and whose families cannot afford to pay all of the related expenses. Grants may be used for medical expenses, specialized equipment, therapy/rehab costs, transportation to treatment, or adaptive capital improvements, or other similar expenses. Grants will be paid through a nonprofit organization working with the family. Grants are limited to one per family.

Typical grant size: Up to $3,000

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations within the eight-county region around Rochester, NY (Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates counties).

Rolling application; no deadline. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received.

Application

Send one copy of completed Project Brief Application to Kate Kidera (contact info below). With it, submit a letter (on the letterhead of the nonprofit organization) explaining the need and how it meets the criteria. Include the amount requested and the specific purpose(s) for which the grant will be used.

Notification Date(s)

Usually within two weeks of receipt of letter of inquiry.
