Purpose

To help local community organizations in the Village of Brockport or towns of Sweden or Clarkson provide local arts or cultural opportunities to their residents, support programs that reduce poverty, enrich the beauty of the community, or restore historic buildings and sites within the same areas.

Typical Grant Size

$2,000 to $5,000

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be local, community-based organizations within the Village of Brockport or towns of Sweden or Clarkson, NY. Projects must directly benefit their residents. Specifically:

  • Arts and culture grants must be used to support local groups that perform traditional and folk arts, not for the pop culture of the day.
  • Historical preservation grants may be used for physical restoration of buildings and for the maintenance of monuments, sculptures, and other historic items important to the community.
  • Poverty grants may be used to support programs that help lift people out of poverty.
  • Grants for community enrichment may include beautification to public areas.

Application Due Date(s)

The upcoming deadline to submit an application is Friday, May 10, 2024. Priority will be given to projects supporting historic preservation at this time.
