
Rochester Tooling and Machining Scholarship
Purpose of Scholarship
For students enrolled in programs related to the metal-working industry at an accredited community, junior, or technical post-secondary institutions.
Application Period
Contact MCC financial aid office. Applications due by July 1 and November 1.
Number and Size of Awards
Number of recipients and award amounts vary; paid in one lump sum.
Allowed Use of Award
Award may be used for tuition only.
Eligibility Criteria
For high school students and GED graduates with satisfactory performance in the prerequisites for the chosen field.
Application Process
The application process is coordinated by the Rochester Tooling Machining Association (RMTA), 2485 West Henrietta Road, Suite 152, Rochester, NY 14623. Call 585.292.3760 for an application and further details.
Committee/Selection Process
The selection process is coordinated through the Rochester Tooling and Machining Association. A committee comprised of two RTMA members and three Monroe Community College faculty members reviews applications, selects the recipient(s), and informs the Community Foundation.
Award Announcement and Payment
The Community Foundation issues checks payable to RTMA for distribution after the Fall and Spring semesters.
Renewability
This scholarship is not renewable; however, students may reapply each year they are eligible.
Donor Information
This scholarship was established in 1993 by the Rochester Tooling and Machining Institute, Inc. to encourage students to engage in the metalworking industry.
