Purpose of Scholarship
The purpose of the scholarship is to benefit a student at the University at Buffalo Law School who has demonstrated financial need and is in good academic standing.

Contact the University at Buffalo Financial Aid Office beginning in August to learn more about this scholarship opportunity
Number and Size of Awards
One award of $1,000; paid in one lump sum.
Allowed Use of Award
Award may be used for educational expenses at the University at Buffalo Law School.
Eligibility Criteria
For a University at Buffalo Law School student in good standing and deemed to be in need of financial aid.
Application Process
The application process is coordinated by the University's Financial Aid Office, where application instructions are available if applicable. The application must be submitted with a resume and letter of interest describing in detail how the student meets the qualifications AND what his or her current financial situation is, including all sources of support.
Committee/Selection Process
The selection process is coordinated by the University at Buffalo Law School. The University at Buffalo Law School notifies Judge Telesca and the Community Foundation each year of the student selected to receive the scholarship.
Award Announcement and Payment
The Community Foundation emails an award notification with instructions for claiming the award to the recipient in April. Payment is mailed to the school for the recipient's account.
Renewability
This scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable.
Donor Information
This scholarship was established in 2002 through the contributions of numerous donors to honor the Honorable Michael A. Telesca, a United States District Court Judge in Rochester, New York.
