Rochester Tooling and Machining (James M. Nieboer) Scholarship
Purpose of Scholarship
For students enrolled in the advanced manufacturing industry related curricula at an accredited community college, junior college, or technical post-secondary institution within the Finger Lakes region.
Application Period
Applications due April 1 for the Spring semester and November 1 for the Fall semester.
Number and Size of Awards
Number and size of awards vary.
Allowed Use of Award
Expenses associated with higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
Student must be a high school graduate, GED graduate, or an adult in secondary or continuing education with satisfactory performance in the prerequisites for the chosen field.

The application process is coordinated through Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association (RTMA), 2024 West Henrietta Rd., Suite 3-J, Rochester, NY, 14623. Call 585.510.6557 for an application.
Committee/Selection Process
A committee from RTMA reviews applications, selects scholarship recipients, and notifies the Community Foundation.
Award Announcement and Payment
Award letters are sent by RTMA to the students, and payment is made from the Community Foundation to RTMA for disbursement to the students’ accounts.
Renewability
This award is not automatically renewable; students may reapply each Fall and Spring semester.
Other
This award is not transferable. If for any reason the recipient does not attend classes for the semester in which s/he receives the award, or if the class or classes are cancelled, the Community Foundation must be notified, and the award returned. The recipient may reapply for future tuition assistance.

This scholarship was established in 1993 by the Rochester Tooling and Machining Institute, Inc. to encourage students to engage in the metalworking industry.
