Purpose of Scholarship

To fund two scholarships per year to graduating students from Honeoye Falls-Lima Senior High School.

Number and Size of Awards

Two awards of $2,750 each, preferably to one male and one female student. Award paid in one lump sum in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters.

Allowed Use of Award

Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

For graduating seniors from Honeoye Falls-Lima High School who:

• Have financial need;
• Have scholastic ability (previous recipients have been in the top 10 percent of class);
• Display qualities of good citizenship and character; and
• Are planning to attend an institution of higher learning.

Application Process

The application process is coordinated by the Honeoye Falls-Lima High School Counseling office, where application instructions are also available.

Committee/Selection Process

The selection process is coordinated through Honeoye Falls-Lima High School. A committee comprised of local clergy, the high school principal, the first-grade teacher with the most tenure, and Robert Wiggins, Esq., reviews applications, interviews the students, selects the recipient(s), and informs the Community Foundation.

Award Announcement and Payment

The Community Foundation emails a certificate to the high school for presentation to the recipient and emails an award notification with instructions for claiming the award to the recipient in the Spring. Payment is mailed to the school for the recipient’s account in one lump sum in the Fall and split between the Fall and Spring semesters once required documentation is received.

To release the scholarship payment, upload the requested and required information including your class schedule and tuition bill verifying enrollment to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Acceptance and Renewal Form between July 1 and August 15.

Scholarships not claimed by February 15 in the assigned year will be forfeited. Email scholarships@racf.org with any questions or concerns.

Renewability

This scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable.
