4 New Members Join Foundation Board in 2021

We are pleased to introduce our new Community Foundation Board Members, who began serving on April 1.

Patrick Cunningham was the chief executive officer of the investment advisory firm Manning & Napier, Inc. until his retirement in July 2016. He was instrumental in growing the company and bringing it public in 2011. He spent a total of 24 years at the firm and joined its Executive Group beginning in 2000. Patrick has served on the boards of Rochester Museum & Science Center, Wilmot Cancer Center, and Cancer Wellness Connections. He is also on the Community Foundation’s Program/Distributions Committee.

Gina Cuyler, MD, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician, author, educator, public speaker, and avid patient advocate. She is owner and founder of Comprehension Internal Medicine – a direct-to-patient internal medicine consulting firm – and co-founder of the Black Physicians Network of Greater Rochester, a nonprofit agency dedicated to addressing healthcare disparities. Gina serves on the Community Technology Assessment Advisory Board at Common Ground Health and the University of Rochester’s Diversity Advisory Council, as well as its Rochester Network Leadership Cabinet. She is also on the Community Foundation’s Endowment Leadership Team and Advancement Committee.

Mark Eidlin is senior vice president and wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch. He has been named to the Forbes “Best-in-State Wealth Advisors” list every year since 2018 and recognized as one of the Financial Times 401 Top Retirement Plan Advisors in 2015. Mark is chair of the Highland Hospital board, vice chair of its foundation board, and a past executive committee member of The Strong Partners. He is chair of the Community Foundation’s Investment Committee.

Sujatha Ramanujan, PhD is a serial entrepreneur – having started, built, and grown three start-up businesses – and a seasoned executive with 25 years of experience in clinical devices and consumer electronics. She is currently managing director of the Luminate Accelerator, which has invested in and advanced 40 photonics companies and brought them to Rochester. Sujatha served on the board of the National Women’s Hall of Fame and was induction chair, and she continues to be active in the Indian community and in educational programs in dance, science, and literacy. She serves on the Community Foundation’s Program/Distributions Committee.

Thomas Richards took on the role of board chair, succeeding Elizabeth Thorley, whose two-year term ended March 31, 2021. We also want to thank retiring board members Carol Adams, Audrey Peartree, Mark Siewert, and Krishan Thanik, MD.
