Equity Grants: Closing Achievement and Opportunity Gaps [Early Childhood Education]

Purpose

Rochester Area Community Foundation is interested in supporting the early childhood community in the following ways:

  • Projects that involve public policy research, evaluation, and/or advocacy in order to better understand the scope of a policy advocate for change or improve the delivery of services;
  • Broad communication efforts that, for example, would attempt to affect the behavior of a large number of individuals or foster public dialogue on an issue;
  • Organizations providing cost-effective training or technical assistance, contracting with an outside expert to serve as a resource, or facilitating peer group learning in order to improve the effectiveness of a large number of early childhood care providers; and
  • Projects that leverage significant other support and/or dollars from government, major private foundations, or individuals.

Eligibility Criteria

Any 501(c)(3) organization or government entity serving the greater Rochester region (Monroe, Orleans, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates counties). Preference will be given to those programs serving children in the City of Rochester.
