Funding Opportunity

Gouvernet Arts Fund

Purpose

To support the arts. Preference is given to the performing arts including theater and opera. Significant preference is also given to organizations with an arts-focused mission.

Typical Grant Size

$500 to $1,500 (Higher amounts are occasionally granted)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations within the eight-county region around Rochester (Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates counties). Strong preference is given to organizations operating in the city of Rochester.

Capital projects will not be considered.

Application Due Date(s)

Rolling application; no deadline. Applications are reviewed throughout the year in the order they are received.

Application

Submit a letter (on the letterhead of the nonprofit organization making the request) explaining the project for which funding is sought in a maximum of two pages (one page is preferred). Indicate the amount requested, the specific purpose(s) for which the grant will be used, and any supporting materials. The request will be sent directly to the donor with a copy provided to the contact below.
