Intro Image - An Evening Out At Home

An Evening Out At Home

An Evening Out At Home is Rochester Area Community Foundation’s premier annual event. It was created in 1981 as a way to bring together members of the greater Rochester community for an elegant evening and, at the same time, raise awareness and support for the Foundation and its mission.

Join Us May 30, 2020

Dinners in private homes and some special locations will be followed by a dessert reception at The Strong National Museum of Play. We hope to see you there!

How It Works

Every year, guests dine in small groups at the homes of Foundation supporters, starting at 6 p.m., and then gather at a special venue to mingle with party-goers from the other dinner parties. The dessert reception features locally made desserts and drinks and includes dancing. Past reception sites have included Rundel Memorial Library, Three  Heads Brewing, the renovated Sibley Building, ARTISANworks’ French Quarter, George Eastman Museum, Memorial Art Gallery, Village Gate, City Hall, and many other special locations. Past events have drawn 300 to 400 people. Check out photos from our Facebook album showcasing the 2018 gala.

A Look Back at the 2019 Party

The 37th edition of An Evening Out At Home took place on Saturday, May 4, with planning led by Co-Chairs Maggie and Charlie Symington. The post-dinner reception was at Comedy @ The Carlson at 50 Carlson Road in Rochester.

Guests who RSVP’d before April 12 had a chance to win a $300 grant for their favorite local nonprofit. The winners were Tom Riley and Barbara Kelley. These two former Community Foundation board members chose Rochester Refugee Resettlement Services to receive the grant.

Our Valued Sponsors

An Evening Out At Home would not be possible without the generous support of many sponsors. We have sponsorship levels for businesses from $2,500 to $10,000 and for individuals, couples or families ($250 to $1,250). Each level has a variety of perks, with many including complimentary reservations.
