Youth / After-school / GRASA
 |
Rochester Area Community Foundation has convened the Greater Rochester After-School Alliance (GRASA) to execute a community strategy to meet the needs of working parents and engage young people in interesting, meaningful activities. If you are a provider, a parent, or a youth development professional - this page is for you.
GRASA believes that all youth and families should have access to quality out-of-school programs. As a consortium of youth development advocates, we are committed to improving the academic, social, and emotional competencies for youth and the adults who work with them.
On March 23, 2006, GRASA held a free, half-day program for after-school leaders and others to learn more about increasing the quality of after-school programs. PowerPoint presentations made at the event can be found in the "Presentations" sidebar on this page.

GRASA Mission To improve the quality, quantity, and accessibility of out-of school programs in Monroe County and position the community to draw down state and national funding for out-of-school programs.
|
The initiative serves as:
- a central point for information on needs and strengths of out-of-school programs;
- a community-wide priority setting body on issues relating to out-of-school programs; and
- a focus for coordinating responses to state and national requests for proposals.
