Getting involved with your Community Foundation is a great way to be philanthropic. We focus our attention and resources on the six counties surrounding Rochester, NY—Monroe, Wayne, Ontario, Livingston, Genesee, and Orleans. This is the region we know the most about and the region we can help you invest in and connect with.
The 21st Century Fund was created in 1996 by the contributions of many donors as a permanent endowment to help the Community Foundation respond creatively to changing needs in the community. Grants provide critical support in meeting those challenges of the future for which other funds may not be available. Donors of $2100 or more become members of the 21st Century Club and are invited periodically to discuss the strategy and direction of the Community Foundation’s leadership activities.
The Community Scholarship Fund was created by the Board of Directors in 2003 as a vehicle for donors to support worthy local students in the pursuit of their education. The Community Foundation’s Scholarship Committee recommends awards from this fund. The Fund may provide “last dollar” awards, may address emergency needs, or may assist students who need additional support in order to accept other scholarships.
The Community Sponsors Fund receives contributions made to the Community Foundation to support its operations and its mission of improving the community. A donor to this fund is casting a vote of confidence in the Community Foundation, recognizing that its staff and board are providing valuable services to donors and to the community.
The General Endowment Fund is the foundation of the Community Foundation’s ability to support the needs of the community. A general purpose fund, its grants are based on priorities determined periodically by our Board of Directors and are thoroughly evaluated by our staff and volunteer Distributions Committee. Other funds at the Community Foundation may be limited in purpose; the General Endowment Fund provides full flexibility for addressing current and changing needs.
For your convenience, the Community Foundation may accept contributions using various methods. You can support the ongoing and emerging needs of the community now by using the form below to make a credit card donation (MasterCard, Visa, American Express).
All contributions are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
For your protection, all credit card transactions are processed through a VeriSign secure site. You will not be required to provide your credit card number until you press submit on this page and are taken to the secure site.
