Philanthropy offers an opportunity to honor or remember special people in your life.

Memorial/Honorarium Gifts
Often people enjoy making gifts in memory or honor of someone special. This can be done to celebrate a special anniversary, birthday, or milestone, or to memorialize someone who has passed.

You can contribute any amount to any fund at the Community Foundation and specify that the gift is in honor of or in memory of an individual or couple. If provided the information, we will send a card acknowledging that you made the memorial/honorarium gift to the named person or surviving loved one. (We do not list the dollar amount on the acknowledgement card.)

Give to a Memorial Fund

We have several existing funds at the Community Foundation that were established to honor or memorialize special individuals in our community.  You can add to an existing named memorial fund or to our general Memorial/Honorarium Fund in honor of a special person.  All of the funds listed in the document below are available for you to give online today.

Memorial/Honorarium Funds
Tribute sheets provide personalized information, stories, and/or photos about the honored person. They accompany grant checks, sharing the “heart behind the gift,” and can help encourage additions to the fund.
Personal Legacy Story

The creation of a personal legacy story will allow you to share the story of your loved one and highlight the reasons for which you established the fund.  We will work with you to create a very personalized publication that can be shared with grant recipients and the community.  You can have as much or as little input in the design as you are comfortable with.  Interested in creating a Personal Legacy Story?  Contact Cynthia Pacia at (585) 341-4331 to get started.
