Honor or Memorialize A Loved One

Give to an Existing Memorial Fund

We have several funds at the Community Foundation that were established to honor or memorialize special individuals in our community. Click here to search and give to memorial funds.

Other Ways to Make a Memorial Gift

Often people enjoy making gifts in memory or honor of someone special. This can be done to celebrate a special anniversary, birthday, or milestone, or to memorialize someone who has passed.

You can contribute any amount to any fund at the Community Foundation and specify that the gift is in honor of or in memory of an individual or couple. If provided the information, we will send a card acknowledging that you made the memorial/honorarium gift to the named person or surviving loved one. (We do not list the dollar amount on the acknowledgement card.)

Create A New Memorial Fund

If you would like more information on establishing a memorial fund, please contact Dana K. Miller, Vice President, Advancement, at (585) 341-4390 with any questions.

Tribute sheets provide personalized information, stories, and/or photos about the honored person. They accompany grant checks, sharing the “heart behind the gift,” and can help encourage additions to the fund.   Personal Legacy Story
The creation of a personal legacy story will allow you to share the story of your loved one and highlight the reasons for which you established the fund.  We will work with you to create a very personalized publication that can be shared with grant recipients and the community.  You can have as much or as little input in the design as you are comfortable with.  Interested in creating a Personal Legacy Story?  Contact Philanthropic Services Associate Stefanie Griffin
at (585) 341-4331 to get started.
